A crisp, modern wine bar has recently opened in Seattle’s Belltown neighborhood. The Local Vine aspires “to convey the highest levels of knowledge with regard to wine and winemaking, but without the air of exclusivity that so often afflicts the industry”. Our gig isn’t reviewing wine, so we’ll let you be the judge of what’s in the gorgeous bottles lining the walls. As for the interiors, architects Bohlin Cywinski Jackson have created a warm modernism rarely seen outside of Denmark and Sweden. Unfortunately the hard surfaces lend to poor acoustics, thereby making it difficult to carry on a conversation, but the scenery more than makes up for it. In the summer, Local Vine offers outdoor seating and the minimalist fireplace is sure to provide a beacon through the long, gray Seattle winters. The Local Vine and other recommendations can be found on The Modern List Seattle.

Great lines, love the lights and wood paneling. Good wine too.
